Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the meat department's cleanliness, organization, and product zoning to ensure it remains customer-ready continuously. Regularly rotate stock and remove expired or unsellable items.
• Ensure all items are accurately priced and signed, abiding by procedures related to orders, clearances, markups, markdowns, labeling, and signage.
• Comply strictly with food safety and cold chain protocols, including regular temperature monitoring, thermometer calibration, correct handling, proper rotation, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Prepare and serve deli products such as meats, cheeses, and fried chicken by safely operating slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other equipment. Complete special customer requests and refill display cases.
• Follow health and safety standards as well as company policies to uphold a safe, clean, and hygienic workspace.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays according to business demands to help maintain smooth store operations and consistent service quality.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, by planning ahead to maintain focus and energy.
• Engage in physical work such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive actions like stocking and organizing with high attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $18.05 CAD.
