Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the department’s cleanliness, organization, and zoning to ensure it is consistently customer-ready.
• Rotate products regularly, removing any expired or unsellable items promptly.
• Ensure all merchandise is properly priced and labeled, adhering to procedures for ordering, clearances, markups, markdowns, and signage.
• Comply with food safety standards, including managing cold chain requirements such as temperature checks, thermometer calibration, safe food handling, product rotation, and monitoring sell-by or expiration dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli items (meats, cheeses, fried chicken) using slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other equipment safely.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic workplace by following company health and safety policies and guidelines.
• Be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business demands.

Challenges in the Role

• Handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-moving environment, particularly during overnight shifts, requiring effective energy and focus management.
• Complete restocking and recovery duties efficiently and accurately, often involving heavy physical work such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting supplies up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive activities like stocking and organizing products while maintaining high attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.05.
