About the Role

Join Avani Hotels and Resorts at the iconic Avani Victoria Falls Resort, located in Livingstone, Southern Province, Zambia. This position supports the hotel's marketing efforts by aiding the promotion of the brand, products, and services through carefully planned marketing campaigns, engaging content creation, digital outreach, and partnerships. The Marketing Assistant collaborates with internal teams and external partners to manage daily marketing activities, foster relationships with media and influencers, support public relations, and handle marketing materials—all to enhance brand recognition, attract guests, and secure the hotel's competitive market presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and implementation of marketing and communication campaigns aligned with business goals.
  • Perform market research and competitor analysis to guide marketing strategies.
  • Coordinate promotional events, partnerships, and brand activations.
  • Assist with content development and distribution across social media, email marketing, websites, and other channels.
  • Help manage the hotel's digital presence to keep content fresh, engaging, and consistent with brand standards.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and key performance indicators.
  • Maintain marketing project schedules and calendars to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Organize marketing resources such as collateral, image libraries, and databases.
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, agencies, media, and vendors for successful marketing deliverables.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling, processing purchase orders, invoicing, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Build and sustain positive relations with media, industry partners, influencers, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in delivering exceptional guest experiences through impactful marketing activities improving brand visibility and customer engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed Grade 12 School Certificate accredited by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations roles.
  • Experience in hospitality, tourism, or related service sectors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing practices, and content management systems.
  • Proven ability to create marketing content for both digital and print media.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with graphic design and content creation software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills capable of juggling multiple projects and timelines.
