Job Overview
This full-time position requires presence at the company’s Singapore location as a Marine Surveyor. The successful candidate will inspect vessels and marine infrastructures to evaluate their condition, ensure adherence to regulations, and verify conformity with marine industry standards. Responsibilities include conducting pre-purchase inspections, damage evaluations, and condition assessments; analyzing technical documentation; and generating detailed, clear reports for clients and regulatory authorities.
Daily tasks encompass collaboration with vessel operating companies, shipyards, and classification organizations, performing onboard inspections, and confirming the functionality of safety apparatus, hull conditions, and machinery operations. The role also includes supporting risk analyses, offering expert technical guidance, and aiding ongoing enhancements of survey processes and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in marine inspections and survey practices, capable of executing comprehensive and impartial assessments.
- Thorough understanding of the marine sector and vessel operations, familiar with different vessel categories, onboard technologies, and relevant regulations.
- Educational background in naval architecture or marine engineering fields, with knowledge of vessel design principles, stability, and structural soundness.
- Holders of academic credentials in naval architecture, marine engineering, maritime-related disciplines, or similar areas.
- Experience applying both international and Singapore maritime laws, classification society standards, and safety regulations.
- Competency in drafting clear and technical reports, able to communicate results effectively with various stakeholders and perform inspections onboard vessels and in shipyards.
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work autonomously in field conditions.
- Possession of professional marine surveyor certifications or documented prior work experience as a marine surveyor is advantageous.
