Role Summary
In this hands-on role, you will operate within a cleanroom environment to assemble and test advanced wafer fabrication and display manufacturing equipment. Your responsibilities will include constructing, repairing, and verifying electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies and components. The role demands precision in assembly and repair tasks, testing using measurement devices, leak detection, and vacuum systems, plus software installation and process documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Following work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists to build, repair, and test a variety of electrical and mechanical assemblies.
- Performing electro-mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities under moderate supervision.
- Inspecting and auditing parts upon receipt to ensure availability and defect-free status, alongside process improvement efforts.
- Utilizing test fixtures and electronic measurement instruments, including leak detectors and vacuum pumps, for assembly testing.
- Completing detailed documentation regarding work progress, expenses, labor, and optionally performing software repairs or installations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- 1 to 2 years experience in semiconductor or display manufacturing or equivalent industry or military experience.
- Ability to adhere to written and verbal standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical education, certifications, or relevant training.
- Eagerness to develop skills using analytical/scientific methods or operational processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills based on established procedures or scientific reasoning.
- Certification such as ASSEET or BSEET (DeVry, TSTC).
Physical Demands
The role requires physical endurance including prolonged standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders, lifting, and working in noisy environments. Color differentiation ability and operation of hand/power tools or machinery such as forklifts are necessary. The role may involve cleanroom duties requiring Personal Protective Equipment including coveralls, hoods, gloves, respirators, and face shields.
