Job Summary
As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be directly involved in constructing and testing multimillion-dollar display and wafer fabrication machinery within a cleanroom setting. Your duties include assembling, troubleshooting, repairing, and validating electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic subassemblies and components using schematics and technical orders. Tasks also involve parts inspection and inventory audits, utilizing various test equipment like electronic meters, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps. Documentation of all work progress, expenses, labor, and any software-related tasks such as programming or installations, will be required.
Responsibilities
- Construct, repair, and test diverse equipment assemblies according to work orders, schematics, and wiring diagrams including electrical, electro-mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and repair duties with moderate supervision.
- Inspect parts for defects and verify availability through audits; optimize processes as needed.
- Utilize test fixtures and specialized measuring devices to evaluate assemblies and components.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and carry out programming or software installations when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 1 to 2 years experience in semiconductor or display manufacturing, or equivalent industry or military background
- Ability to adhere to written and verbal standard operating procedures
- Familiarity with basic hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical education, certifications, or relevant training
- Motivation to grow skills in analytical methods or operational processes
- Strong analytical thinking with capability to use established procedures for problem-solving
- Certifications such as ASSEET or BSEET (DeVry, TSTC) are favorable
Physical Requirements
This role requires physical endurance including prolonged standing, stair climbing, bending, reaching, and the ability to work in confined areas. Color differentiation, noise tolerance, and operating hand/power tools and machinery including forklifts are necessary. Use of appropriate PPE such as coveralls, gloves, helmets, and respirators is mandatory given the cleanroom conditions.
