The Turnaround & Restructuring team specialises in assisting underperforming businesses by stabilising operations and implementing strategic changes quickly and effectively. Services range from operational turnarounds to financial restructures, and where necessary, formal insolvency procedures.
This team collaborates closely with the wider Deal Advisory division, which encompasses services such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Valuations, Infrastructure & Projects, and Debt Advisory. The practice delivers comprehensive financial advice, bringing valuable commercial acumen and in-depth sector expertise to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage turnaround and restructuring projects ensuring delivery aligned with client timelines, budgets, and expected outcomes.
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior client management, mid-level executives, and other stakeholders including legal representatives and lenders.
- Conduct financial analyses to identify challenges and develop restructuring solutions including cost reduction, working capital optimisation, accelerated M&A activities, refinancing, or exit strategies.
- Develop and monitor detailed project plans, define work requirements, and set clear engagement objectives considering associated risks.
- Formulate viable solutions that acknowledge clients’ internal and external constraints.
- Review cash flow forecasts and perform sensitivity analyses to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with other Deal Advisory teams locally and nationally on due diligence and debt advisory engagements.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of professional experience, preferably with specific expertise in Corporate Finance, Financial Restructuring, Turnaround, or Insolvency.
- Experience with corporate insolvency procedures is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills capable of engaging diverse stakeholders across operational and financial roles at all organizational levels.
- Understanding of legal frameworks associated with Restructuring and Insolvency.
- Proven business development capabilities, including marketing oneself and securing new client relationships.
- Financial modelling skills are a plus.
- Membership or professional qualification relevant to the field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams both operationally and technically.
