Professional Services Division Overview
This division fosters the growth and promotion of Singapore’s professional services sector, working with diverse firms such as accounting, consulting, marketing, engineering, legal, and risk management. It supports these firms in establishing and expanding their presence, enhancing the vibrancy and capabilities of the sector. The division engages in industry studies, research, and analysis to devise development strategies and investment promotion, partnering with public and private sector leaders to implement ecosystem-wide initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate clients, overseeing comprehensive account development, investment negotiations, and client servicing activities.
- Build strategic relationships with key executives to understand their priorities and identify new growth prospects.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of client operations and needs to continually update engagement strategies.
- Identify, negotiate, and structure investment projects that benefit both clients and Singapore, aiming for mutually advantageous outcomes.
- Provide tailored solutions, both standard and customized, to address client challenges effectively.
- Coordinate with internal EDB teams and other government agencies to ensure smooth project implementation and execution.
- Maintain a strong grasp of global and regional industry trends, government offerings, and EDB products to create project opportunities and add value.
- Conduct detailed analyses of global trends including technology, business models, regulations, and skills to extract insights for professional services ecosystem development.
- Create value propositions and programs to encourage firms in sectors such as accounting, consulting, marketing, engineering, legal, and risk management to establish headquarters or key business activities in Singapore.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement policies and industry development programs effectively.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in client engagement, industry development, or the Engineering Services/Built Environment sector.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing capabilities to engage and win support from stakeholders across all seniority levels.
- Flexibility and quick responsiveness to shifting business environments and priorities.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify industry-level opportunities beneficial to Singapore.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey ideas clearly and succinctly.
- Strong project management and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and multiple workstreams efficiently.
- Strong analytical and conceptual reasoning, with high agility in learning, able to handle complex or ambiguous issues and interpret qualitative and quantitative data for actionable insights.
- Collaborative team player yet capable of independent thinking.
- Experience with quantitative analysis is a plus.
- Must be a Singapore citizen.
