Overview
The Manager - HR RMC functions as the on-site human resources operations partner, responsible for executing and overseeing HR initiatives and programs at the plant site. This role aligns site HR practices with the organization's strategic objectives, ensures strict compliance with applicable labor legislations, and nurtures a positive and engaging work atmosphere.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment efforts aligned with site needs and coordinate seamless Day-1 onboarding including document verification and IT asset allocation.
- Facilitate the induction process by organizing orientation sessions, manager and team introductions to effectively welcome new employees.
- Oversee contractor labor through maintaining unique IDs in the Contractor Labor Management System, tracking attendance via Kronos, and managing off-roll workforce licensing and compliance.
- Support performance management by administering appraisal systems, collaborating with leadership to promote regular feedback, and identifying employee development requirements through learning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies by managing documentation, updating HR policies specific to the capability center, coordinating statutory filings including those under the Apprentice Act.
- Coordinate health, safety, and well-being communications between site HR and relevant teams; assist in incident reporting and escalation to higher-level teams when critical.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local departments, labor offices, and other stakeholders to enable smooth HR operations at the site.
- Plan and execute employee engagement programs, including organizing events and collaborating with vendors and internal teams to maintain a vibrant workplace culture.
Required Qualifications and Background
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is mandatory; an advanced degree or MBA in HR is preferred.
- Between 3 to 10 years of experience in human resources, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity within a manufacturing, plant, or similar industrial setting.
Technical Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of HR policies, labor law compliance, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and learning development programs.
