Operating in over 145 countries with headquarters in New Zealand, the company supports sustainable mineral development, infrastructure design, renewable energy sourcing, and environmental impact reduction.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations, the Manager of Global Sales Operations will spearhead the sales operations function worldwide. This leadership position involves setting strategic direction, maintaining consistent execution across the customer order lifecycle, licensing management, invoicing support, compliance reporting, and other quote-to-cash processes.
Leading regional Team Leads and senior contributors, this role acts as the primary escalation and advisory point within Global Sales Operations. The manager collaborates with teams across Seequent and Bentley Systems to enhance processes, systems, controls, automation, and team capabilities while balancing strategic initiatives with daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and develop the global sales operations function through Team Leads, establishing strategies, priorities, operational standards, and performance benchmarks across regions.
- Mentor Team Leads and senior staff to strengthen succession planning, enhance capabilities, promote uniformity among regions, and foster a cohesive global team culture.
- Manage the global transactional advisory framework and oversee escalations for complex, high-risk, high-value, or urgent transactions.
- Ensure governance across all stages of the customer order process, including quote approvals, closure reviews, licensing enablement, invoicing support, compliance monitoring, and controls.
- Utilize reporting and trend analyses to monitor workflow health, service quality, regional consistency, and readiness for period-end operations.
- Prioritize initiatives for improving sales operations, sponsoring scalable enhancements involving quote-to-cash processes, licensing, invoicing, contract management, automation, and thoughtful application of AI.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years in leadership roles within global sales operations, commercial operations, order management, or related quote-to-cash functions.
- Proven experience managing multiple regional teams and leading through subordinate leaders.
- In-depth knowledge of the order lifecycle, licensing, invoicing, internal controls, compliance, and transactional governance.
- Ability to provide commercially sound guidance, make effective decisions in ambiguous circumstances, and communicate risks clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Experience sponsoring and driving process improvements, system enhancements, automation, or transformational projects that deliver lasting operational results.
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills combined with effective written and verbal communication; qualities of curiosity, patience, and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
- A degree, diploma, or certification in Business Administration or equivalent field is advantageous but not mandatory.
Location and Working Conditions
This role is office-based with potential placement across multiple locations. Given the global scope of the Sales Operations team, participation in meetings across various time zones is expected. Occasional travel might be required depending on business needs.
