Role Summary
As a Management Consulting Matcher, you will collaborate directly with clients to identify their needs, accurately match them with management consultants from Toptal’s extensive network, and assist throughout the engagement process and beyond. This is a fully remote position requiring English communication skills; visa sponsorship is not available.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to gather detailed requirements and ensure clarity of their talent needs.
- Craft clear job descriptions outlining consultant roles and qualifications.
- Search and shortlist appropriate consultant profiles, managing availability inquiries.
- Screen applications to confirm availability and suitability of candidates.
- Facilitate introductions between consultants and clients, emphasizing cultural and technical compatibility.
- Negotiate tailored talent rates, commitment levels, and scheduling.
- Collect and document client feedback on consultants within the platform.
- Advise and support consultants within the Toptal network.
- Address and resolve disputes collaboratively across teams.
Onboarding and Growth Milestones
- First week: Complete onboarding, understand company culture, and shadow matching sessions.
- First month: Begin managing client engagements and engage closely with supporting teams and consultants.
- First three months: Establish strong relations across departments, develop a mature client portfolio, and effectively resolve disputes.
- First six months: Qualify to handle major accounts and contribute shared best practices.
- First year: Become a subject matter expert, promote teamwork, improve matching lifecycle success, lead operational improvement initiatives, and mentor new team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
- Full-time availability aligned with EST or PST work hours.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in management consulting at top-tier or reputable boutique firms, or similar strategic advisory roles.
- Proven expertise spanning multiple consulting domains such as strategy, finance, operations, marketing, HR, and technology, or a broad generalist background.
- Strong adaptability to learn and perform in adjacent disciplines like Product Management, Project Management, Design, or Digital Marketing.
- Skill in interpreting ambiguous business challenges and translating them into consultants’ roles and skills.
- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and emotional intelligence to accurately qualify projects and determine consultant fit.
- Understanding of business strategy, management consulting methodologies, playbooks, and frameworks; MBA is a plus but not compulsory.
- Quick uptake of new systems, processes, and tools.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Strategic thinker with initiative and capacity to work independently without heavy supervision.
- A demonstrated track record as a top-tier individual contributor, committed to hands-on delivery rather than solely directing others.

This position is designated for candidates based in South or Central America regions. Candidates must communicate fluently in English; the role does not provide visa sponsorship or relocation support.
