Role Overview
This is a year-round full-time role based in Jasper, Alberta. The starting pay rate is $24.00 per hour. The primary responsibility is maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our historic lodges, hotels, cabins, and surrounding properties to ensure visitors enjoy a pleasant environment.
Key Duties
- Assist in continuous upkeep and maintenance of hotel properties, ensuring top quality standards.
- Perform daily maintenance tasks covering pools, dining areas, guest rooms, and meeting spaces.
- Regularly interact and coordinate with coworkers, management, and guests.
- Carry out basic repairs in guest rooms and hotel common areas, supporting supervisors and the Maintenance Manager with more significant repair tasks.
- Conduct yard maintenance activities like snow removal, gardening, and lawn mowing.
- Promote and participate in safe work practices.
- Support other departments such as guest services and security as needed.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of Grade 12 diploma, plus trade education or relevant experience is beneficial.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal guidance.
- Willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience or familiarity with basic maintenance areas such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, pool treatment, and painting is an asset; on-site training is provided.
- Basic understanding and use of tools; tools are supplied.
- Capability to handle heavy workloads and multitask efficiently.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including day (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and evening (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Holding a Class 4 Alberta driver’s license is an advantage.
- Consent to a criminal record check as part of our commitment to integrity.
