Job Location and Schedule
This full-time maintenance role is based in Lugoff, South Carolina, at the INVISTA facility, operating weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Role Summary
The Maintenance Technician will undertake a variety of plant service tasks to support site operations. Duties include landscaping, material handling, equipment operation, general housekeeping, and assisting with plant maintenance activities to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize material handling equipment (MME), pallet jacks, and forklifts to transport materials.
- Manage recycling processes including cutting strapping, collecting recyclable materials, and baling cardboard.
- Perform groundskeeping such as grass cutting, weed eating, and trash collection around the facility and parking areas.
- Conduct cleaning tasks including pressure washing, evaporator and duct cleaning, and diffuser maintenance.
- Engage in painting, relamping, furniture moving, fire watch duties, and general housekeeping.
- Operate facility vehicles such as dumpster trucks and golf carts for site maintenance and transportation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficient in basic computer use.
- English language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Intermediate mathematical capability.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks involving walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Compliance with safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Experience
- Prior work experience in or around a manufacturing environment.
- Previous operation of pallet jacks and forklifts.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
The role involves working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold. Tasks may require climbing ladders, extended periods of walking, and wearing necessary PPE. Visual acuity including color distinction is required.
