Maintenance Technician (Saudi Arabia)

Position Overview

Join Marriott International as a Maintenance Technician based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, providing essential repair and preventive maintenance services to hotel guests and equipment. This non-management role involves ensuring functionality and safety of various mechanical, electrical, and building systems while maintaining exemplary standards of work and guest interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and communicate effectively with guests to resolve issues.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on kitchen appliances, mechanical room equipment, and tools including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines visually to identify issues.
• Operate equipment necessary for maintenance tasks, including carrying tools and radios.
• Locate and operate all utility and equipment shut-off valves within the building.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and order parts as required.
• Communicate daily maintenance activities and incidents to subsequent shifts following approved protocols.
• Develop or demonstrate knowledge in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building systems.
• Perform surface preparation tasks including painting, drywall and wood trim repair, replacement of light bulbs and air conditioning filters, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Test and troubleshoot equipment such as plumbing fixtures, electrical components, extension cords, and household devices, performing basic repairs.
• Program televisions and handle inventory duties related to housekeeping and engineering.
• Adhere to Lockout/Tagout safety protocols before starting maintenance work.
• Maintain landscaping both interior and exterior, including sprinkler systems.
• Utilize basic computer skills for inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
• Follow all company safety, security, and operational policies including proper storage of flammable materials.
• Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality standards, safeguarding company assets.
• Provide courteous and prompt service to all guests including those with disabilities, aligning with company hospitality standards.
• Work collaboratively within the team to meet common goals and support coworkers.
• Physically perform tasks such as lifting objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier with assistance; navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders; and perform bending, twisting, and stooping movements as needed.
• Conduct other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Experience in general maintenance, interior and exterior surface preparation, and painting.
• Prior hotel engineering or maintenance experience is advantageous.
• No supervisory experience required.

Mandatory Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License.

The schedule is full-time work hours with no remote working option.
