About the role
As a Maintenance Technician based in Shepton Mallet and Yeovil areas, you will play an essential role in keeping Tesco stores safe, operational, and welcoming for customers and staff. You will be a key member of the team, responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across diverse equipment and systems, ensuring smooth daily operations. Your expertise will help promptly diagnose and resolve issues, always prioritizing safety, compliance, and quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate effectively with external contractors for repair tasks.
- Work collaboratively within the team to maintain high service quality.
- Maintain high energy to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Support management by ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and facilities to keep stores running smoothly.
- Schedule repairs to reduce disruptions to customers.
- Ensure all Tesco locations are safe and functional environments.
- Adhere to planned maintenance schedules targeting first-time problem resolution.
- Share best practices and knowledge with team members.
- Perform routine store and property maintenance duties.
- Utilize mobile devices such as phones and tablets for job management and updates.
- Represent Tesco by exemplifying company values and maintaining a positive attitude and uniform standards.
- Attend meetings at local and national levels to provide input and feedback.
- Promote a workplace culture embracing diversity and inclusion.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications such as ONC or equivalent.
- Possession of a full driving license.
- Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with Office 365 applications.
- Completion of all essential technical training modules as per role requirements.
- Experience in maintenance, engineering, or construction environments.
- Comfort and proficiency with digital tools including tablets for task scheduling and email management.
