Maintenance Technician

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician based in Stevenage and surrounding areas, you will be essential in ensuring the safety, functionality, and welcoming nature of Tesco stores. Your responsibilities include both planned and reactive maintenance of various systems and equipment, helping maintain smooth store operations and directly enhancing the customer experience daily. This hands-on position demands a proactive attitude, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a commitment to high standards. Key Responsibilities

• Effectively liaise with external contractors to coordinate repairs.
• Collaborate closely with team members to provide excellent service.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high energy.
• Support the management team by maintaining store equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate repair work to minimize disruption for customers.
• Ensure all Tesco locations remain safe and operational environments.
• Adhere to planned maintenance schedules aiming for first-time fix success.
• Share best practices and knowledge with colleagues.
• Perform routine store and property maintenance tasks.
• Utilize mobile technology such as phones and tablets to optimize work completion and updates.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Hold ONC or an equivalent qualification.
• Possess a valid full driving license.
• Have a solid understanding of health and safety principles.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Office 365 applications.
• Completion of all applicable technical training and upskilling modules.
• Confidence in using digital devices such as tablets for scheduling and communication.
