Role Overview
The Maintenance Technician will provide essential technical support at our New Ross facility, ensuring excellent standards of electrical and mechanical maintenance across production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, emergency, and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment and fixtures.
- Diagnose and repair production-floor equipment malfunctions minimizing downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance; analyze data to propose and execute improvement measures.
- Implement new techniques and work systems to enhance equipment operational availability.
- Adhere to standardized work procedures and suggest improvements where applicable.
- Make informed decisions proactively, escalating to Maintenance Supervisor only when necessary.
- Support training initiatives for fellow maintenance staff.
- Maintain adherence to planned maintenance schedules on production machinery.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately and neatly.
- Keep maintenance work areas clean and hygienic, including workstations and storage.
- Perform toolroom fitting and manufacturing tasks as required.
- Represent the Maintenance Department in TPM and Lean Manufacturing efforts, contributing technical expertise.
- Assist production teams in developing sound work practices and effective problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Automation teams on design, testing, commissioning, and stabilizing new equipment.
- Maintain high morale across the plant workforce.
- Provide technical insight during non-conformance analysis and corrective actions involving product quality.
- Work closely with quality teams to help ensure products meet design requirements and standards.
- Assist machine operators with setups.
- Comply fully with Integer's conduct and safety protocols.
- Contribute as an active team member toward building a world-class lean manufacturing system.
- Uphold Integer’s behavioral standards and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate well with both internal and external stakeholders, always exemplifying a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Comprehensive product knowledge relevant to the maintenance role.
- Solid technical aptitude in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
- Familiarity with manufacturing operations, quality control, inventory management, and production planning.
- Willingness to engage in cross-skilling activities as required.
Educational and Experience Qualifications
- Minimum academic qualification equivalent to Leaving Certificate.
- Must be a qualified tradesperson with time-served mechanical or electrical experience, or hold a third-level technical qualification accompanied by at least 3 years of relevant experience.
