Position Overview

The Inspector position on the 2nd shift involves performing various routine and occasional complex inspections of finished products to verify compliance with internal and external quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Abide by company safety protocols and quality standards in all tasks.
  • Conduct visual inspections of product surfaces such as cases and lids following prescribed procedures and product knowledge.
  • Report the quantities of scrap and finished goods to production leads or supervisors.
  • Use microscopes to identify defects ensuring adherence to product visual requirements.
  • Complete rework operations as necessary to maintain product standards.
  • Understand distinctive quality criteria appropriate for each customer's products and inspect accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot routine inspection-related issues using established guidelines and select appropriate solutions.
  • Support operations floor teams by advising on product acceptance standards.
  • Assist with training new inspectors to uphold quality processes.
  • Verify proper handling and disposition of nonconforming materials before shipment.
  • Follow packaging instructions and assist in packing products correctly, manage material flow, and maintain KANBAN tags and scrap reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Between 1 to 3 years of experience in product inspection roles.
  • Proficiency in using microscopes and operating computer terminals.
  • Successful completion of 40 hours of training and certification examination.
  • Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent hand-eye coordination.

Work Schedule and Shift

The inspector works the second shift from 3:00pm to 1:00am, Monday through Thursday.
