Maintenance Technician

Role Summary

We are looking for a proficient Maintenance Technician based in County Mayo who will be integral to maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production machinery and facilities. This full-time position reports directly to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct planned preventative maintenance across a variety of plant machinery to ensure peak performance and adherence to safety and operational guidelines.
• Quickly identify, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical malfunctions to reduce production interruptions.
• Keep meticulous records detailing all maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs carried out.
• Oversee inventory for spare parts, maintaining availability of crucial components.
• Prioritize and address maintenance requests to maintain continuous production flow.
• Utilize hands-on skills in machining, bearing and shaft assembly, and fault diagnosis to resolve mechanical issues effectively.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to pinpoint and implement equipment improvements and process enhancements.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and company regulations consistently.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience or demonstrated aptitude in machine maintenance within manufacturing or industrial settings is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a systematic approach.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Preferably at least two years of related maintenance experience.
• Possession of a formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
