Role Overview
The Maintenance Planner will play a crucial role in optimizing operating profits by managing planned maintenance activities and ensuring high operational availability of equipment. This position involves scheduling, monitoring, and evaluating preventive maintenance aligned with TS/ISO and equivalent trade standards to enhance equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze maintenance data to identify opportunities for equipment improvements and generate monthly issue reports.
- Support the deployment of preventive maintenance software and applications.
- Develop, maintain, and improve maintenance planning and scheduling workflows, ensuring that tasks are executed as planned with adjustments made as necessary.
- Regularly reassess task time requirements and document associated completion costs.
- Estimate costs and durations for maintenance work while collaborating with production scheduling to optimize downtime planning for preventive maintenance with minimal production impact.
- Track and ensure preventive maintenance completion rates reach 100%, rescheduling as needed.
- Procure required parts, equipment, services, and documentation to perform maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Participate in project review meetings and contribute to long-term departmental planning.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of completed preventive maintenance and inventory with a focus on inventory reduction while maintaining part availability.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of equipment maintenance history and records databases.
- Manage and ensure data integrity within the CMS/E-Maintenance CMMS work order system, maintaining logs for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Schedule weekly preventive maintenance work orders covering tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, inspections, and both minor and major repairs.
- Coordinate data collection and prepare required reports daily, weekly, and monthly for maintenance leadership.
- Facilitate and engage in shift crossover meetings.
- Document and report maintenance department key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, planning, and budgeting.
- Lead and participate in weekly team meetings reviewing KPIs, action item progress, and maintenance performance.
- Engage in scheduled meetings focused on long-range asset planning.
- Coordinate and plan internal work orders and identify materials needed for procurement or requisition.
Required Experience and Skills
- Three to five years' experience in automotive assembly is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience in planning and scheduling combined with strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency with CMS and/or CMMS software preferred; Microsoft Excel skills are a plus.
- Quick aptitude for learning new systems and programs.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret, manipulate, and present data effectively with excellent computer literacy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with skilled trades personnel.
- Competency in interpreting preventive maintenance feedback to formulate and implement action plans for program improvement.

Additional Information
This is a permanent, full-time role based in St Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Immediate start is possible. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 annually.
