About the Role and Employer

Join the Country Court family as a Maintenance Person at Flitwick Care Home, a specialist residential and dementia care facility spanning three floors with 75 rooms. The home boasts luxury amenities such as a cinema, library, hair salon, treatment room, gym, and landscaped gardens. This role operates on a 37.5-hour per week schedule, including weekend shifts based on a rota.

Key Duties

  • Maintain the property to ensure safety and structural soundness while keeping all utilities fully operational.
  • Store all tools and equipment securely, ensuring that cleaning and hazardous materials comply with the Home’s COSHH policy for safety of residents and staff.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, fire safety, and health and safety inspections as directed by the Home Manager.
  • Ensure any vehicles used for resident transport meet safety and legal standards.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry tasks, and decorating within the scope of your qualifications and skills.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a maintenance role.
  • Familiarity with various traditional building trades.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety, especially moving and handling practices and COSHH assessments.
  • Strong problem ownership and resolution capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the care sector is beneficial.
  • Possession of a valid driving license is essential.
