Maintenance Manager

About the Role

Join an established chemical manufacturing company as a Maintenance Manager where you will be responsible for leading maintenance, reliability, and engineering functions at a critical chemical manufacturing site specializing in methylhydroxyfurfural (MHF) production. This is a hands-on leadership role offering significant autonomy to enhance plant reliability, maximize uptime, improve maintenance systems, and ensure top standards in safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the site's maintenance strategy, overseeing daily maintenance operations.
• Enhance plant reliability, equipment uptime, and overall performance.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance shutdowns and preventative maintenance programs.
• Manage the maintenance team and supervise contractors effectively.
• Oversee maintenance budgets, forecasting, spare parts inventory, and operational costs.
• Lead smaller capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency.
• Maintain key environmental, health and safety (EHS) systems such as Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change, and Fire Risk Management.
• Pinpoint and implement opportunities to improve site reliability, efficiency, and profitability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold an engineering degree or relevant tertiary qualification in engineering.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar maintenance leadership role within a chemical or MHF manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of process and manufacturing operations.
• Experience managing maintenance contractors and external service providers.
• Proven ability managing shutdowns, budgets, and maintenance programs.
• Familiarity with Mechanical Integrity and Management of Change systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industrial safety, compliance, and risk management practices.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with an aptitude for coaching and influencing teams.
