Mainframe Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a Mainframe Developer to join our Application Development and Maintenance team. Candidates should have completed a Bachelor or Master of Engineering or Computer Applications and be prepared to engage in analyzing user requirements and defining system features to create effective mainframe solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs to conceptualize system functionality and features.
• Develop, design, and maintain high-quality, reusable mainframe code by setting clear priority for functionalities.
• Detect system bottlenecks and bugs, recommending tailored system solutions based on thorough comparison of options.
• Participate actively in team meetings and resolve issues related to development and production across various environments and platforms.
• Comprehend architectural demands ensuring efficient design, development, validation, and support operations.

Technical and Professional Expectations

• Strong expertise in design considerations and adoption of industry best practices.
• Firm grasp of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with diverse software design patterns, architecture, and lifecycle development methodologies.
• Experience working with external and embedded databases.
• Skillful in designing database schemas aligned with business processes.
• Implement automated testing environments and write unit tests effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication aptitude, capable of liaising with distributed teams.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel when required.

Preferred Technologies

• Extensive experience in Mainframe Technologies across all relevant systems.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a degree in Engineering or Computer Applications at bachelor’s or master’s level.
