Job description

Overview

Join the Royal Mail team as a Mail Sorter at the Northern Ireland Mail Centre located in Newtownabbey, BT36 4HQ. This permanent position involves working 37 hours per week across five days, primarily during the night shift from 23:00 to 07:00. Be a crucial part of the organization that enables billions of deliveries annually, helping maintain smooth mail centre operations around the clock.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various indoor tasks within a warehouse setting, including unloading mail from vans and transporting items via trolleys.
  • Sort parcels and letters manually with attention to accuracy and speed, as well as operate sorting machinery.
  • Adapt quickly by switching between different duties along the sorting process to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Handle over a million items per shift, contributing to seamless mail processing and delivery.
