About the Role
Emerson is seeking a skilled Machinist to join their Brantford, ON operations team. This full-time onsite role involves working collaboratively across functions to support manufacturing activities with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the cylinder shop lead hand, manufacturing engineer, and supervisor to safely address machining assignments as they arise.
- Operate various machinery including a 5 station turret lathe, custom thread rolling machine, automatic tapping head, HAAS Mills, manual vertical mills, HAAS ST10 and ST20Y lathes, aluminum chop saws, metal band saws, manual lathes, and 5-axis milling equipment.
- Set up thread rolling heads to produce quality parts aligning with print and gauge standards.
- Program CNC machines manually, without CAM software, adjusting tooling and blade setups as needed to meet print specifications.
- Perform precision tube facing and measurements using analog and digital calibrated gauges.
- Conduct general equipment maintenance including monitoring coolant, fluid levels, and tooling supplies.
- Carry out buffing, grinding, deburring and related operations to ensure finished part quality.
- Manage material handling and organize raw material storage efficiently, including occasional heavy lifting.
- Adapt and execute alternative methods to maintain workflow during equipment breakdowns.
- Perform additional relevant duties as required in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Candidate Profile
- Certified General Machinist holding Red Seal and Journeyman Certificate of Qualification (COQ) along with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Certification.
- Proficient in CNC programming and able to modify and implement saved machine programs applying both metric and imperial print reading skills.
- Capable of performing tooling setup changes and blade replacements with corresponding program adjustments.
- Strong commitment to maintaining clean, safe workplace and equipment condition during and post-shifts.
- Positive, solution-focused attitude with effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative work.
- Adherence to strict safety standards and health policies in a manufacturing environment.
- Eligible to work in Canada without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma is advantageous.

The hourly wage ranges from $29.36 to $37.54, determined by skills and experience.
