About The Role

Join our Production and Maintenance Team as a Machine Operator, where you will manage equipment operation, support automation processes, and execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime while overseeing routine production activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and sustain all required operational efficiencies.
• Guide and support a team of helpers to complete production runs timely, fully, and upholding quality standards.
• Collaborate with Food Safety and Sanitation teams to ensure compliance of automated equipment with regulatory requirements.
• Operate machines involved in grinding, extracting, mixing, blending, drying, freezing, cooking, or processing food and beverage products.
• Conduct pre- and post-inspections of packaging machinery following job plans, procedures, manuals, and calibration protocols.
• Set up equipment accurately ensuring safe and proper operation.
• Complete documentation and generate production reports as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize production downtime.
• Continuously monitor and adjust processes based on upstream and downstream production demands.
• Manage and document department inventory including consumables.
• Adhere rigorously to Food Safety standards, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and Health & Safety policies.
• Follow HelloFresh policies and best practices focusing on delivering the highest product quality to customers.
• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) acts and regulations.
• Utilize personal protective equipment and report workplace hazards promptly to supervisors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Post-secondary diploma or equivalent in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or relevant practical experience.
• Familiarity with ProSeal (GTE/GTR) machines and Loma Metal Detectors is advantageous.
• Between six months to one year experience operating machinery, preferably in food processing, manufacturing, or service industries.
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as walkies, forklifts, stackers, or reach trucks is an asset.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, including frequent bending, twisting, and walking.
• Capability and willingness to work in refrigerated environments ranging from 0°C to 4°C.
• Able to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds safely.
• Strong attention to detail for detecting potential food safety or quality issues.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Basic computer literacy.

Working Conditions and Additional Information

Exposure to common food allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, and milk is possible; candidates should disclose allergies or ingredient concerns during hiring. The role is based onsite in Mississauga, Ontario.

Salary Details

The pay rate for this role is C$20.75 per hour.
