Job description

Location and Schedule

This position is located at 4951 - 110 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. Shifts vary depending on area and business needs:

  • Plating area: Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Kitchen area: Tuesday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Role Overview

The Production Associate will handle tasks such as receiving and preparing raw ingredients, assisting cooking staff during meal preparation, plating meals, and packing customer orders. All work must comply with safety standards and internal GMP and SQF guidelines. Additional assignments may be given.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotating through functional zones including Kitchen, Plating, Picking and Packing, Shipping, and Receiving as assigned by management
  • Maintaining product quality to meet company standards
  • Accurately weighing and portioning products
  • Efficiently working at designated shipping stations
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas, and properly sorting waste and recyclables per protocols
  • Participating in training to enhance job skills and knowledge
  • Promoting positive teamwork through respectful communication and collaboration
  • Following occupational health and safety regulations and using required protective gear
  • Reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background
  • Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting weights up to 50 pounds
  • Experience standing for prolonged periods including frequent bending, twisting, and walking
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm and alert in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated conditions between 0°C and 4°C
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google applications and ability to learn new technology
  • Team player with ability to work independently and solid interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
  • One year experience in a food production facility is considered beneficial
  • Level 1 First Aid certification is an asset
