Machine Operator

Role Overview

We are urgently seeking a skilled Machine Operator to become part of our production team. This role centers on the operation of digital printing and fabrication equipment to deliver high-quality outputs for branding, events, exhibitions, signage, and other fabrication projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate various digital printers, including both large and small formats such as UV, solvent, eco-solvent, and latex models.
• Manage CNC routers, plotters, laser cutters, laminators, and equipment used in finishing processes.
• Prepare all substrates, inks, and materials tailored to the job specifications.
• Conduct test prints, adjusting for proper alignment, sizing, and color precision.
• Perform cutting, trimming, laminating, mounting, routing, and assembly tasks.
• Handle diverse materials including vinyl, acrylic, MDF, foam board, aluminum, PVC, fabric, and paper.
• Edit and prepare artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, with foundational Adobe InDesign skills beneficial.
• Prepare and validate print-ready files in formats such as AI, PDF, PSD, and EPS.
• Operate RIP software to efficiently handle production queues.
• Undertake colour calibration, profiling, and conduct quality assessments.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical, machine, and software issues as they arise.
• Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and preventive upkeep on machinery.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental standards along with production quality protocols.
• Collaborate closely with designers, production teams, and project managers to ensure precise job completion.
• Maintain production documentation and track usage of materials and consumables.
• Support critical projects such as urgent orders, exhibitions, installations, or peak production periods.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or certification in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Manufacturing, or comparable disciplines.
• Demonstrated prior experience in roles like Digital Print Operator, CNC Operator, or Fabrication Technician.
• Comprehensive practical expertise with digital printing and fabrication machinery.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is necessary; familiarity with InDesign is a plus.
• Experience working with RIP software and understanding print production workflows.
• Knowledgeable in colour management techniques and print quality control measures.
• Competent in interpreting artworks, layouts, technical plans, and job instructions.
• Basic skills in mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience related to signage, advertising, events, exhibitions, or fabrication adds value.
• Detail-oriented with the capacity to meet strict deadlines.
• Physically able to handle production materials and work extended hours when needed.
• Strong communicator with effective teamwork and time management capabilities.
