About the Role
John Watson School is inviting applications for a Lunchtime Supervisor to join their dedicated and friendly team at their special education facility. This role involves preparation of the lunch hall, overseeing pupil safety and behaviour during lunch and break times, and assisting pupils with their meals. The position is permanent and covers term-time hours daily from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Comprehensive training will be provided by current staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and arrange the lunch hall according to pupil seating plans
- Monitor and assist pupils during lunchtime in the hall and outdoor playground
- Support pupils during meal consumption, including feeding where necessary
- Maintain pupil engagement and positive behaviour throughout lunch and break periods
- Facilitate the safe transition of pupils between classrooms, lunch hall, and play areas
- Collaborate with teachers and teaching assistants to manage behaviour as needed
- Participate in relevant training such as Safeguarding
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and legal requirements of the school
Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children, especially those with learning difficulties, is essential
- A cooperative team member capable of taking initiative when required
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt flexibly to changing circumstances
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practices in education
- Physical fitness adequate for active duties including manual handling and outdoor activity in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work across different school teams or sites
- A positive, proactive, and resilient mindset
- Possession of a First Aid qualification is advantageous but not mandatory
