Role Summary

The Loss Prevention and Inventory Controller is tasked with ensuring precise inventory tracking and safeguarding company assets by monitoring equipment use and movements. This position partners with Production and Operations teams to guarantee equipment is allocated, dispatched, received, and documented correctly, while investigating discrepancies and enforcing loss prevention protocols.

Primary Responsibilities

• Leverage inventory management systems to monitor allocation, movement, usage, and returns of all equipment for events.
• Perform scheduled and random inventory counts and audits to verify physical stock aligns with records.
• Control issuance and returns of equipment, ensuring all processes are authorized and recorded.
• Collaborate with Planning and Scheduling to resolve equipment scheduling conflicts.
• Oversee packing, dispatch, event execution, breakdown, and warehouse returns following established processes.
• Inspect equipment before and after use to identify missing, damaged, substituted, or unaccounted-for items.
• Timely update inventory software with returns and status changes.
• Investigate any inventory irregularities, losses, damages, or unauthorized usage.
• Compile reports detailing missing/damaged items and inventory variances, suggesting corrective measures.
• Enforce measures to reduce theft, damage, improper use, or unauthorized removal of company assets.
• Mark defective equipment for maintenance and coordinate repair plans.
• Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules to maintain equipment condition.
• Control inventory access, authorizing only approved personnel to handle or remove equipment.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation such as equipment issuance forms, returns, job lists, incident reports, and maintenance logs.
• Communicate work assignments and equipment needs to relevant personnel.
• Propose enhancements to inventory procedures, security, storage, and tracking methodologies.
• Deliver regular reports on inventory status, maintenance, and loss prevention to management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Associate degree or diploma in Inventory Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Security Management, or related disciplines.
• Minimum two years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, asset oversight, or loss prevention roles.
• Competency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent record-keeping, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate discrepancies thoroughly.
• Upholds high integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and sound judgement.
• Effective communication, coordination, and report writing abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse, production, technical, and event teams.
• Willingness to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as per event scheduling.
• Experience in event production, equipment rental, or logistics sectors is advantageous.
