Key Responsibilities

• Lead and provide strategic direction across multiple warehousing, distribution, and transport sites.
• Develop and implement the logistics operations strategy aligned with long-term growth and commercial goals.
• Drive major operational transformation, change initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
• Analyze and redesign logistics processes, workflows, and operating models to enhance efficiency, productivity, and scalability.
• Optimize end-to-end logistics operations ensuring superior service, quality, and performance.
• Promote automation and digital transformation, including effective utilization of warehouse management systems (WMS), transport management systems (TMS), and other logistics technologies.
• Identify automation opportunities for manual or inefficient processes and leverage operational data and analytics.
• Implement Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable continuous improvement methodologies throughout the logistics function.
• Achieve measurable enhancements in productivity, efficiency, service quality, and cost management.
• Lead strategic initiatives in cost control and productivity while maintaining customer service and operational standards.
• Cultivate a high-performance leadership culture focused on accountability, collaboration, engagement, and ongoing improvement.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, quality standards, governance, and other regulatory requirements across all logistics operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and senior internal stakeholders.
• Build operational capacity and capabilities to support future growth and evolving customer needs.
• Enhance succession planning, talent development, and leadership capabilities within the logistics teams.
• Provide clear operational insights and performance reporting to the senior leadership team.
• Contribute strategically to wider business plans and drive operational and organisational development.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in roles such as Logistics Director, Operations Director, Head of Logistics/Operations, General Manager, or similar.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-location logistics operations.
• Demonstrated success in delivering operational transformation and quantifiable performance improvements.
• Experience leading or implementing warehouse, logistics, or supply chain automation projects.
• Thorough knowledge of WMS, TMS, and relevant logistics technologies.
• Experience with Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or other systematic continuous improvement approaches.
• Capability in redesigning processes, operational models, and working methods to enhance operational results.
• Strong commercial and financial skills including managing budgets, costs, and productivity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to influence senior leadership and board members effectively.
• Analytical, data-driven decision-making approach for operations.
• Transformational leadership ability to engage, develop, and guide teams through significant transitions.
• Competence in balancing strategic vision with hands-on operational execution.
