Log Scaler

About the Position

This role is focused on consistently achieving high standards and precision in measuring export logs for Qube Forestry. The Log Scaler will maintain vigilance over log quality and confidently identify logs that do not meet specifications when required.

The Log Scaler will support the manager to ensure the log scaling operations are efficiently and professionally managed. This position requires a candidate with strong teamwork abilities, confidence, familiarity with National Standards, and a thorough understanding of log scaling procedures, company SOPs, and relevant policies.

This is a hands-on role that may involve assisting with various tasks beyond log scaling duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform log scaling to meet export criteria
• Conduct truck inspections and manage sign-in processes
• Oversee quality control processes within the yard
• Mark rows and carry out general yard responsibilities
• Enter data accurately into relevant systems

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a valid unrestricted driver's license
• Previous experience in a log or timber yard preferred but not mandatory
• Keen attention to detail with the capability to maintain focus and deliver precise results
• Strong commitment to safety practices
• Hardworking with a positive outlook
• Mature and responsible attitude
