Job Overview
Position: Linux Administrator
Location: Cork, Ireland (Hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week onsite)
This role demands deep Linux system knowledge combined with strong automation skills using Ansible.
Primary Responsibilities and Expertise
- Possess extensive hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, with an expected minimum of 10 years.
- Have profound insights into Linux internals, including process management, memory usage, storage systems, and kernel operations.
- Demonstrate expertise in system configuration and security hardening on distributions such as RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities in troubleshooting Linux environments.
- Manage filesystems, Logical Volume Management (LVM), RAID setups, network configurations, and boot loaders efficiently.
- Design and operate secure and scalable Linux infrastructures.
- Maintain at least 5 years of experience with Ansible automation.
- Craft modular and reusable playbooks and role-based automation structures to streamline operations.
- Show deep understanding of YAML scripting, Jinja2 templating, and inventory management techniques in Ansible.
- Create custom Ansible components such as modules, filters, or plugins to extend functionality (this is highly advantageous).
- Oversee large-scale automation with Ansible including configuration management, patch deployment, application rollouts, and infrastructure provisioning.
