Linen Attendant

About the Role

This position involves managing the distribution and maintenance of clean uniforms and linens. Responsibilities include issuing uniforms per company standards, logging distribution and returns, checking for damage, removing substandard items, completing inventories, and assisting with garment care and repairs. The role supports hotel staff by ensuring uniforms and linen supplies are well maintained and properly accounted for.

Key Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect uniforms following hotel procedures.
• Report uniform and linen damage or discrepancies to senior housekeeping staff to maintain accountability.
• Inspect uniforms to ensure they are in presentable condition before issuing them to employees.
• Withdraw irreparable uniforms from service and notify senior housekeeper.
• Perform inventory counts, address discrepancies, and manage loss and damage control.
• Provide shoe polishing services upon request.
• Support seamstress with linen and uniform repairs.
• Attend to guest requests involving loaned items or clothing repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of uniform and towel transactions in a logbook.
• Ensure linens are folded, packed, and delivered promptly to floor pantries.
• Measure and fit uniforms for new employees as requested by Human Resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum educational qualification of GCE 'O' or ‘N’ levels.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Prior experience working in a uniform room is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of garment care and familiarity with inventory management systems.
