About the Role

Tesco Ireland is a values-driven company dedicated to enhancing the shopping experience for customers and supporting employee development. We are looking for a Line Manager based at Paul St., Cork, responsible for leading a department and its team to ensure top-quality shopping experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and mentor your team to provide outstanding service, maintain high standards, and ensure product availability.
  • Achieve all department key performance indicators.
  • Make daily decisions that empower your team to perform effectively.
  • Oversee the training program to guarantee that all colleagues receive thorough training, validation, and up-to-date certification.
  • Ensure department routines, processes, and systems are accurately completed on time.
  • Organize seasonal, promotional, and trade activities to maximize sales impact and presentation.
  • Manage all safe and legal procedures within your departments, promptly addressing any identified issues.
  • Support colleagues in understanding objectives, reviewing progress regularly, conducting career discussions, and maintaining personalized development plans.
  • Provide continuous coaching and constructive feedback to improve team skills store-wide.
  • Create an environment that fosters innovation, personal growth, and a positive shopping and working culture.

Additional Duties

  • Prioritise the customer in every action and interaction.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers to serve them effectively.
  • Ensure product quality and availability at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop floor and back areas.
  • Adhere to departmental routines and company policies, especially health and safety regulations.
  • Support other departments as needed.

  • Proven prior management experience.
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer and colleague experiences.
  • Adaptable and agile thinker capable of meeting objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Recognized as the go-to expert within the department and able to influence senior levels.
  • Preferred background in retail experience.
  • Strong relationship builder who collaborates well with teams and shows enthusiasm in interactions.
