Lighting Pre-Sales Engineer

Role Summary

The Lighting Pre-Sales Engineer functions as a BIM Specialist entrusted with producing, coordinating, and delivering superior quality lighting design and BIM outputs throughout all stages of projects. This role offers crucial support to design, sales, and project execution teams by converting lighting concepts into detailed BIM models, technical drawings, lighting calculations, and construction documentation, ensuring alignment with project needs, industry regulations, and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales, Design, and Engineering teams to plan, create, and coordinate integrated architectural lighting solutions, both within interior and exterior environments.
• Engage in primary design stages including concept formulation, schematic design, design advancement, and preparation of execution-related documentation.
• Join conceptual design workshops to contribute ideas on lighting concepts, visual aesthetics, and evaluate technical practicability.
• Compile comprehensive design and execution document packages such as drawings, schedules, and specifications for review by Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, and Sales personnel.
• Generate BIM models and coordinate lighting plans that harmonize with architectural, electrical, and landscaping disciplines.
• Create detailed installation documents encompassing wiring diagrams, connection details, underground cabling cross-sections, and site coordination materials for on-site teams.
• Efficiently address urgent design and coordination challenges to prevent project interruptions.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all design phase deliverables, including lighting layouts, specifications, calculation reports, and design iterations.
• Assist in value engineering initiatives ensuring the preservation of design intent and performance quality.

Qualifications & Skills

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a closely related discipline.
• Accumulate no less than five years of experience specializing in architectural lighting design and BIM-focused project execution.
• Exhibit strong command of Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, along with lighting analysis software such as Dialux, Relux, or AGi32.
• Have experience with 3D visualization tools including SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, 3ds Max, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of architectural and façade lighting technologies, luminaires, control systems, and installation processes.
• Maintain high attention to detail with a focus on documentation precision and effective coordination.
• Thrive under pressure while balancing multiple deadlines and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in both English and Arabic communication skills.
