Join AtkinsRéalis as a Lifting Expert in Riyadh, taking a crucial role within our Transportation Project Delivery team. This position offers the chance to contribute to a complex multi-disciplinary transport project, collaborating closely with design, engineering, construction supervision, and the Design & Build (D&B) Contractor. Emphasizing safety, you'll oversee lifting activities across the entire project lifecycle in a diverse and inclusive environment that encourages growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor logistic and construction plans submitted by the D&B Contractor.
• Assess and oversee lifting plans and method statements developed by the D&B Contractor.
• Review design outputs to ensure constructability.
• Examine risk assessments related to lifting activities and confirm effective mitigation measures.
• Ensure appropriate lifting equipment selection based on load, geometry, and site environment.
• Conduct inspections and testing of lifting tools and equipment according to industry standards, on-site or in workshops.
• Verify that the D&B Contractor conducts toolbox talks and safety briefings focusing on lifting risks and coordination.
• Supervise rigging crews during critical or complex lifts.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards during lifting operations.
• Confirm personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and resourced to perform safe routine maintenance as per contract terms.
• Keep the project management and construction supervision teams informed of lifting activities and ensure their participation in safety briefings and adherence to procedures.
• Collaborate with HSE management to integrate lifting activities into reporting protocols.
• Promote a proactive safety culture with a strong personal safety mindset.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive expertise with lifting equipment including mobile cranes, pulling machines, beam trolleys, chain and webbing slings, and wire rope slings.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety standards related to lifting operations.
• A technical passion for machinery with the ability to rapidly grasp new, complex systems.
• Highly organized and dedicated with excellent teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with inspection and testing methods for various lifting equipment types.
• Sound understanding of general engineering and experience preparing method statements and risk assessments.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in documentation and testing records.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced environment combining office and construction supervision tasks, including flexible working hours.
• Minimum of 8 years professional experience supported by a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications like PMP, RICS, PE, or CEng are advantageous.
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the broader Middle East is preferred.
