Job Overview

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers by employing appropriate rescue methods in times of emergency. This role involves vigilant monitoring of the swimming area to identify hazards, unsafe activities, or swimmers in distress. The lifeguard also enforces the facility's rules and regulations and communicates with supervisors about guests potentially at risk during water activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Observe swimmers and the swimming area closely to detect dangerous situations and intervene as necessary.
• Promote and enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment.
• Provide immediate aid to injured guests until professional medical personnel arrive.
• Create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests.
• Perform tasks such as folding and stacking towels following company standards and maintaining cleanliness by washing, mopping, and cleaning pool areas.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management promptly.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications as mandated.
• Ensure professional communication with guests and colleagues, assist guests with disabilities, and uphold company confidentiality and policies.
• Conduct regular inspections of tools and equipment to identify any defects or issues.
• Physically perform duties involving standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds independently and more with assistance), climbing stairs or ladders, and inspecting various pool-related areas.
• Carry out any other reasonable job duties assigned by management.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• No prior related work or supervisory experience required.

Mandatory Certifications

• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Any local/state required health and safety certifications.
