Licensed Aircraft Engineer - Heavy Maintenance B2

About the Role

Qatar Airways invites applications for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level 1 to join our Technical Engineering team. This position is responsible for conducting aircraft maintenance activities to support flight operations checks and duties within the limits of the engineer's authority. The role demands specialized knowledge and skills to ensure safe, efficient, and effective aircraft operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently plan and execute assigned maintenance tasks using appropriate equipment and tools in accordance with Qatar Airways procedures.
• Review existing work procedures and standards, suggesting improvements when they are inadequate to enhance process effectiveness.
• Authorize final work releases performed by Mechanics, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards, maintaining dispatch reliability and acceptable defect levels.
• Ensure that aircraft maintenance tasks meet company and customer delivery standards and policies, providing satisfactory support to both internal and external customers.
• Implement technical solutions within authorized limits to maintain aircraft and component serviceability as per schedule demands.
• Offer guidance and on-the-job training to Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics under supervision.
• When overseeing others' work, guarantee high workmanship and quality standards while ensuring proper tool utilization.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess High School/Vocational/Diploma qualifications with at least 5 years relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years in the field.
• Hold a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, vocational aircraft maintenance qualification, or a Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
• Must hold at least one full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA license along with necessary approvals.
• Must obtain equipment and heavy vehicle driving licenses as required by maintenance tasks.

Required Skills

• Knowledge in selecting tools and equipment necessary for specific maintenance jobs.
• Proficiency in applying mathematical principles to solve problems.
• Ability to operate and control equipment and systems effectively.
• Strong managerial capabilities including delegation, clear directive communication, workflow management, mentoring, coaching, and fostering teamwork.
