Licensed Aircraft Engineer - B2 - Light Maintenance

General Overview

This role is based in Doha, Qatar, and is part of the engineering job family. The position is for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B2) specializing in Light Maintenance to support flight operations and maintenance checks within the designated authority. The engineer will apply specialized expertise to ensure the aircraft's safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively plan assigned maintenance activities following Qatar Airways and customer procedures, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
• Critically review work procedures for improvement opportunities to ensure efficient work processes.
• Authorize and release completed work, ensuring compliance with company and customer standards regarding dispatch reliability and managing acceptable deferred defects.
• Guarantee that aircraft maintenance tasks meet established policies, procedures, and delivery standards.
• Provide reliable support to both internal and external customers.
• Implement technical problem-solving solutions within authorized limits to maintain aircraft and component serviceability for scheduled requirements.
• Supervise mechanics or technical assistants to ensure tasks are performed efficiently and in compliance with standards.
• Offer guidance and hands-on training to technicians and mechanics under supervision.
• Set team objectives and priorities aligned with business goals, continuously evaluating and updating plans accordingly.
• Ensure team adherence to all technical, safety, and customer procedural requirements.
• Prioritize staff tasks effectively to optimize resource use and meet schedules.
• When overseeing others' work, ensure high workmanship standards and correct use of tools.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Diploma or vocational certification in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent degree (B.Eng., BSc) in aircraft engineering.
• Possession of a valid full Qatar Airways main fleet ICAO/QCAA license is mandatory.
• Internal candidates require a minimum of 1 year of relevant aircraft certification experience (EN.01 category).
• Strong knowledge of air legislation.
• Competency in selecting and using job-appropriate tools and equipment.
• Mathematical problem-solving skills related to maintenance tasks.
• Ability to operate and control equipment and systems effectively.
• Proven managerial capabilities including delegation, setting clear directions, managing workflow, mentoring, coaching, training, and fostering teamwork.
