Overview

The Corporate Information Services division is forming a talent pool for the position of Librarian - School Library Support to fill various full-time and part-time permanent or fixed-term roles arising during 2026 through August 2027. Successful candidates will support strategic planning and provide expert advice on managing school libraries, including technology-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

These include guiding and supporting operations for school libraries and staff by developing and maintaining relevant documentation, staying current with library trends and best practices per ALIA and IFLA standards, managing intranet content to aid school library functions, and collaborating with stakeholders such as principals, teachers, service managers, vendors, and library personnel across and outside the department.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the appointment duration
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain Screening Clearance prior to employment
  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification and be eligible for Associate membership with the Australian Library and Information Association
  • Obtain or maintain a valid Working with Children Check
  • Hold or be able to obtain a current Western Australian Class C Driver’s Licence

Application Details

Applicants should submit an online application including a CV (max three pages) detailing employment and professional development relevant to the role, and a two-page statement addressing selection criteria: knowledge of Kindergarten to Year 12 school library environments, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and innovation in solving complex problems. Two referees, including preferably the current line manager, should be provided. Late submissions will not be considered.
