Role Overview
Kāinga Ora invites applications for a strategic Lead - Technology Risk to build and enhance enterprise-wide technology risk capabilities. This critical position is focused on proactively identifying, evaluating, managing, and monitoring risks associated with Digital IT, fostering a strong risk-aware culture to protect the organisation’s technological future.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the implementation of Kāinga Ora’s technology risk management framework.
- Lead governance, reporting, and oversight activities related to technology risks including cybersecurity, operational resilience, data management, compliance, and third-party risks.
- Collaborate closely with leaders, risk owners, security teams, and delivery groups to embed risk management practices encouraging secure, reliable, and sustainable technology solutions.
- Provide leadership to a team of two Risk Specialists, enhancing organisational risk culture and resilience.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in technology risk management, cybersecurity governance, or associated fields within large, complex organisations.
- Proven track record in establishing and managing risk frameworks, governance processes, and effective reporting.
- Strong competence with technology risks including cyber security, operational continuity, data governance, compliance, and third-party risk considerations.
- Skilled in influencing risk management across various stakeholders and providing comprehensive risk oversight.
- Deep understanding of governance, risk management, and assurance methodologies.
- Excellent analytical capabilities to interpret complex risk scenarios and clearly communicate findings to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experienced in engaging senior executives and aiding decision-making at the highest levels.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder relationship skills.
- A proactive leader who values collaboration and strives for continuous improvement and capacity building within the organisation.
