Role Overview

We seek a Lead Software Engineer specializing in DevOps to join our Identity Solutions program within the Services group. This team focuses on fraud prevention by securing user identities using device data, identity information, and passive biometrics. The role involves architecting, supporting, and scaling our AWS Cloud infrastructure that hosts these products. The position requires building platforms for future needs, enhancing application availability and performance, and automating deployments for engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects within a geographically distributed team, mentoring junior engineers and serving as a subject matter expert.
• Design, develop, scale, and maintain robust cloud infrastructure.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Argo CD, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Resource Manager to manage configurations.
• Develop and improve security policies and monitoring to ensure consistent enforcement and high availability across environments.
• Deploy and manage workloads in AWS leveraging core services including instance management, IAM configurations, databases, and caching mechanisms.
• Build and scale Kubernetes clusters (EKS), manage load balancing, service mesh, and optimize system uptime and response times.
• Maintain comprehensive and high-quality documentation of infrastructure systems.
• Create monitoring solutions primarily using Prometheus to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Provide support to other teams through troubleshooting, incident management, and participate in on-call rotations.
• Develop and enhance system integration tools using programming languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or Bash and uphold coding best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; strong collaborator and team player.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS networking services including Amazon VPC, AWS Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Elastic Load Balancing, Route 53 (including Resolver endpoints and DNS firewall), security groups, NACLs, and AWS Firewall.
• Experience analyzing VPC flow logs and understanding hybrid connectivity solutions (VPNs, Direct Connect) and multi-region architectures.
• Familiarity with latency reduction tools like iperf and sockperf.
• Strong Linux/UNIX skills with over 3 years experience, including troubleshooting, memory and I/O tuning, RAID, and security management.
• Proficiency with provisioning and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines primarily using Jenkins.
• Programming abilities in Go, Python, and Bash.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience deploying containers and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, Mesos, or Docker Swarm.
• Experience with AWS and familiarity with other cloud providers including Azure and GCP.
