Role Overview
Join the Frameworks, Libraries, and Primitives (FLIP) team, responsible for creating essential frameworks and libraries used daily by thousands of backend engineers at Grab. This position involves developing microservices frameworks, resiliency solutions, and dependency management tools that enhance development speed and automation across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI-powered tools to streamline engineering workflows and elevate productivity for Grab's engineering teams.
- Design and implement Go-based frameworks and libraries that enable product engineers to accelerate shipping without rebuilding core components.
- Participate actively in architectural decision-making and define technical roadmaps affecting backend services.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and engineering best practices.
- Ensure high code quality standards through thorough code reviews and constructive feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum seven years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Go programming, writing maintainable, idiomatic, and well-tested code.
- Hands-on development and operation of backend microservices utilizing HTTP/gRPC protocols, relational databases like MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as Redis.
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes), service mesh technologies (Istio), and observability tools including DataDog, Kibana, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines—specifically Git and GitLab—to collaborate effectively on codebases and streamline deployments.
