Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled React Native engineer with a strong product-focused approach to lead our mobile app development efforts. This role involves hands-on leadership over the entire mobile experience, covering iOS and Android platforms using TypeScript, React Native, and native bridges. You will be collaborative in shipping new features, enhancing app performance, improving offline capabilities, and refining development workflows while exemplifying curiosity, thoughtfulness, practicality, and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement key React Native features, including native modules and bridges as appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with design and product teams to make strategic trade-offs, delivering impactful features rapidly.
• Leverage AI tools like Claude and Cursor to accelerate development without compromising code quality or testing standards.
• Optimize app performance comprehensively, addressing complexities inherent in our mobile product.
• Develop robust offline-first functionalities and handle errors gracefully to accommodate real-world field environments.
• Advance our mobile design system and UI pattern library, fostering higher standards through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring.

Desired Qualifications

• Extensive experience with React Native and strong opinions on mobile architecture including navigation, state management, and modular design.
• A product engineering mindset that prioritizes customer outcomes and clean, maintainable code.
• Proven history of shipping complex React Native applications within cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with deep understanding of app performance, accessibility, testing, and maintainability.
• Bonus skills: familiarity with CodePush, experience managing App Store releases at scale, contributions to design systems, and mentoring fellow mobile engineers.
• Formal degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
