About the Role

We seek a Lead Solution Designer for our Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central team in Auckland to craft and implement innovative, scalable solutions addressing complex business challenges across industries.
This position transcends traditional development duties, emphasizing solution design leadership, guiding delivery teams, and collaborating closely with clients to convert business needs into effective, impactful solutions. A key part of this role is clearly communicating intricate technical concepts in simple terms and cultivating trusted relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design for complex Business Central implementations.
- Engage directly with clients to comprehend business challenges and develop end-to-end solutions.
- Convert functional requirements into scalable technical blueprints and integration strategies.
- Provide hands-on leadership with AL development, extensions, and system integrations.
- Champion modern engineering practices, including automated testing and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
- Design and deploy AI-enhanced and agent-driven workflows supporting intelligent automation and next-generation solutions.
- Mentor consultants and developers to enhance the team's architectural expertise.
- Ensure high-quality delivery within agreed timelines and budget constraints.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect or senior technical lead specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Proven ability to design solutions addressing complex business needs beyond mere feature implementation.
- Advanced proficiency in AL development, solution architecture, and designing extensions/apps.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with Azure services, particularly Azure Integration Services, and the Power Platform.
- Experience with AI-driven development methods, including Copilot features and agentic workflows.
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex technical matters for non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
- Experience working with Independent Software Vendor (ISV) solutions, such as Aptean, Continia, and Tasklet.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and AL-Go tools.
