Overview
The Lead MEP Manager will serve as the on-site representative of the consulting team, guiding and overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing supervision activities for expansive building projects, including mixed-use developments and theme parks. This role guarantees adherence to contract terms, approved designs, quality benchmarks, project timelines, and regulatory standards, while working collaboratively with varied project stakeholders throughout the development phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supervision of all site-based MEP works including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV, and specialist systems.
- Ensure contractors adhere strictly to approved designs, specifications, method statements, and project standards.
- Manage coordination between MEP works and architectural, structural, fit-out, and themed attraction components.
- Review and provide technical feedback on shop drawings, material submissions, requests for information, and design adjustments.
- Track construction progress, identifying risks that could affect cost, quality, or schedule.
- Perform site inspections to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Lead activities related to testing, commissioning, integrated system evaluations, and project handover.
- Maintain close coordination with contractors, specialist vendors, ride suppliers, and themed entertainment contractors.
- Assess contractor claims, variation orders, and progress updates.
- Verify completed works and suggest recommendations for payment certifications.
- Enforce quality assurance and control procedures along with health, safety, and environmental standards for all MEP works.
- Participate in client, consultant, and contractor meetings providing technical leadership on project delivery issues.
- Support the Resident Engineer and Project Director in achieving project goals and resolving technical issues.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related fields.
- Over 15 years of experience in MEP engineering and construction supervision.
- At least 5 years serving as a Lead MEP Engineer on large-scale building developments.
- Demonstrated expertise in mixed-use projects, high-rise buildings, hospitality, entertainment destinations, and theme park complexes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building services systems such as HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, ICT, security, and building management systems.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary MEP teams in a consultancy-driven site supervision environment.
- Sound understanding of international building codes, industry standards, and regulations specific to Saudi Arabia.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, BIM tools, and project management software.
Preferred Experience
- Track record on major giga projects and extensive mixed-use developments within Saudi Arabia.
- Familiarity with theme parks, entertainment venues, visitor attractions, resorts, hotels, retail, and leisure environments.
- Experience with complex themed settings, show buildings, attractions, and special MEP systems.
- Background working with leading international engineering consultancy firms.
