Job Summary
Six Mile, LLC is looking for a Lead Janitor to support base operations in Kodiak, AK. This full-time role involves managing cleaning tasks to ensure a clean and sanitary facility environment. You will assist and supervise janitorial duties such as floor care, surface disinfection, restroom sanitation, and waste management.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to the janitorial checklist for assigned areas, fulfilling all cleaning requirements.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet changing schedule demands efficiently.
- Cleans floors using sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, or scrubbing methods.
- Wash windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to maintain cleanliness.
- Dust furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
- Polishing furniture and fixtures for aesthetic upkeep.
- Sanitize restrooms and replenish necessary supplies.
- Empty, clean, and sanitize trash and recycling bins regularly.
- Identify and report maintenance issues in the building for timely repair.
- Inspect and diagnose issues to recommend corrective measures.
- Strictly follow housekeeping standards to maintain hygiene.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year of experience in janitorial or related cleaning services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management capabilities.
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with and safe handling of a range of cleaning products.
- Proficient with standard janitorial equipment.
- Ability to pass required background check and drug screening.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The position is mainly indoors, requiring interaction with diverse individuals across the organization. Daily activities include standing, walking, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds while maintaining high alertness. Mobility to move between meetings and shared resources is needed.
