About the Role
An established Irish engineering and construction company is seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to join their Dublin office. This pivotal role is embedded within the pre-construction team, where the individual will be responsible for managing major tender processes from initial inquiry all the way through to submission and final handover. Projects often involve Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences facilities, Industrial sites, Commercial buildings, and Energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end preparation of detailed and commercially sound tender proposals.
- Critically review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and scope outlines.
- Solicit, evaluate, and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identify and assess commercial risks, exclusions, and potential value opportunities within tenders.
- Lead and facilitate tender review meetings, collaborating closely with engineering and project delivery teams.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimating staff.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have solid estimating experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines, preferably within main contracting, MEP contracting, or engineering services contexts. The role demands the capability to independently steer large tender packages, supported by strong expertise in measurement methods, pricing strategies, subcontractor engagement, and commercial assessment.
