Role Overview
The role of Lead Electrician is a full-time, onsite position in Auckland responsible for supervising and conducting electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and inspection tasks. This position entails leading a group of electricians, planning and implementing electrical activities, troubleshooting faults in systems, and ensuring adherence to all relevant safety and regulatory codes. The Lead Electrician will coordinate with project managers and clients, arrange work schedules, document finished tasks, and provide guidance on potential system improvements or upgrades. Additionally, this role includes mentoring junior electricians, enforcing safety standards, and actively participating in ongoing process enhancements across projects.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and hands-on experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work.
- Expertise in electrical system maintenance, repair, and fault diagnosis for equipment and components.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts including system design, load calculations, and compliance with industry standards.
- Possession of valid electrician registration or license in New Zealand and comprehensive familiarity with local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Proven track record of leading teams on-site, managing projects, and coordinating workloads.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and related technical documentation accurately.
- Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Full, clean driver’s license and readiness to travel within the Auckland area to various customer locations.
